Anyway, seeing as it is November, I am planning for my annual after thanksgiving potluck dinner for friends. It is going to be just 2 weeks from today, and it came up really fast this year. I even thought about putting it off a week, but it wouldn't feel right, so I am just going to step up the cleaning up of my house so that everything will be perfect by then. I bought all of my tableware for this year's event today, so I'm getting really excited about it.
In other news, I realized that I never posted about being rehired at Calvert Woodley with a regular weekly schedule and an actual paycheck. That happened just over 3 years ago, but I wasn't in posting mode then, so I forgot to mention it. I am currently working a fulltime schedule at this job and taking a break from my schooling, because I just had too much going on with school, work, and taking care of my Grandma. Sorry. I know most of the people who read this journal know about all of that, but I wanted to have it in here for accuracy's sake.
Speaking of my Grandma, on Tuesday, November 3, I came home from a pretty long day at work to find her at the bottom of the steps leading downstairs with a broken ankle. :-( She was taken to the hospital where they kept her for just over a week. Now, as of Friday, November 13, she is in a local rehab/nursing care facility where they know better how to deal with the issues that come up with a woman who is almost 100 years old. The doctors at the hospital were talking like she will be there for the rest of her life if we can't get in home care, but I am not sure that will be the case. I hope not, anyway. The trauma of the fall has made her less able to process things around her, so the hospital docs seemed upset with my Mom and me for letting her stay home by herself like we were, but I know that she was fine to do so until now. We are hoping she will be able to attend her 100th Birthday Party in 4 weeks, and the nurses at the hospital thought she would, but I don't know if her change of location will make a difference on that or not.
The last bit of news that I have is that I am currently dating my ex-boyfriend, Peleg, again. A major part of the reason that we broke up approximently 7 years ago was due to parental pressure on my end because he is Jewish. Anyway, about 3 months ago he found me on Facebook, and sent me a message, and another, and another. I finally messaged him back on October 15, a couple of days after his birthday. We messaged back and forth for about a week. Then he suggested we talk on the phone or get together to catch up. I decided that it was a good idea, so I gave him my cell #, and he called a couple of nights later. We had a really nice chat and decided to get together for dinner on Wednesday, November 4. He chose the Cheescake Factory in White Flint, because we had eaten at the one in Friendship Heights quite a bit when we were going out before. I thought that was really sweet, and I enjoyed seeing him again. We got together the following Sunday for a hike that was supposed to be in Great Falls, MD, but we were too late, so they were full. We ended up going to Brookside Gardens in Wheaton instead. Fter walking around the nature trail there, we went to his place and watched the dismal Redskins game, and he took me home. I saw him again last night when we had a nice casual dinner at Savannah's in Kensington and rented "The Ugly Truth" to watch at his parent's house, since they were out of town for the weekend. I have invited him to my potluck in two weeks, and he thinks he'll be able to make it, so that should be fun. I guess we'll see what happens from here. ;)
Okay, I am going to sign off now, since this got really long. Sorry. I hope to be able to post again soon. I really don't want my next entry to read quite like this one, and it will if I don't get better about updating more frequently. :-)
